Chose this cruise solely based on recommendation of knowledgeable travel agency insider.Including airfare, was approx $4,800 for single occupancy and air fare for 8 days and 7 nights. My overall experience has been about average especially considering the premium price for the Rhine River cruise. For example, had to request for bottled water to be replenished, and for toilet paper to be refilled. Room was very clean and all service people were very polite. It was really convenient to get on and off the ship for excursions except there was insufficient free time to shop and also the tour guides gave bad information -- for example, were told that certain shops would be open on Sundays in Heidelberg but the shops were actually closed. Food was delicious but limited in choices and times. Some servers were very friendly and accommodating but others wouldn't bring drink refills in a timely manner. We learned who the good servers were and tried to get in their section. Other issues, when we were on the upper deck, no servers were assigned to get our drink orders. So we would have to go downstairs and get it ourselves. There was only 1 outlet in the bathroom which made it difficult to plug in a blow dryer and flat iron for example. Wifi was very spotty but we were forewarned to expect it.
