Why did I choose this cruise? Because American Cruise Lines was offering a trip down a river that I had never traveled. The scenery was spectacular! The weather was wonderful! And there were two moon lite nights when I just sat on my balcony and gazed into the night as the ship drifted down the river. How spectacular! How relaxing! Loved it!
The trip I took was the river boat cruise along the Snake River / Columbia River from Clarkston, Washington to Portland, Oregon. Getting checked in was an easy process and the hotel in Clarkston made sure my luggage made it onto the ship. The ship was clean and fun to explore. My single occupancy cabin was easy to get around in though the bed was rather small for a man of my size (6' 2" and 260 lbs). Was able to shower easily though it too was a little cramped.
The food was wonderful! I will make you aware that the food portions are for seniors. Good thing they had a cocktail hour every night that offered wonderful appetizers. I learned to help myself to the hors doeuvres before heading down for dinner. I have a food allergy to onions and the cooking staff was able to avoid putting them into my meals.
The single bed was small for a man of my size (6' 2" & 260 lbs). There was plenty of room to walk around and the balcony was wonderful! The room was cleaned everyday. The bed was made every morning and turned down every night.
