We chose this cruise more than a year early because it went to several ports we had not been to and that we wanted to see. Also the Jade continued on as a trans-Atlantic cruise to Tampa. Unfortunately the itinerary was changed after we booked.
Our biggest complaint is that there was little to no port information given on-board in advance. In Civitavecchia we were required to take a bus far from the port. Much time was wasted waiting for the bus then making our way to where we really intended to go. Port talks the day before would have helped.
We generally like NCL. There were no major issues on this trip, but some guest services people were unhelpful and even surly. Most of the staff and crew were excellent. Food and entertainment were very good.
The cabin was fine. The sheets were a little bit too small for the bed so they didn't stay tucked in under the mattress. Our attendant was good about leaving fresh towels as needed. There were extra pillows available in the room.
We had been there before so knew how to get around on our own. We love Venice because of all the museums and interesting history there.
Not really anything to do there.
Okay town to walk around.
