The HK Peak Tram arriving at the lower Station.

A mental picture: We never, never ever complain.

Having just returned from the HK to Brisbane RCI 18 day cruise we feel totally disillusioned, debarking from a third rate floating craft. There were so many glaring issues on board that one would not even comprehend where to start to list them plus the fact I have only a certain amount of time atm.

This cruise was so unlike previous RCI cruises we have travelled on - the last one only 6 months previous on the same ship. We were 1st sitting every night in the MDR on a table of 10 of which only 4 occupied for the most part, the food choice and quality was non existent, giving us both food poisoning after a few days, it was no better in the Windjammer with the same menu just about every day - the fruit bread pieces were indeed 'fresh' for only the first 2 days of the trip and were hard from thereon. After the first 4 days one was convinced that we had boarded a training ship, for a multitude of reasons!

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

We were in an Aft Stateroom (6626) which was fine, great views of the wake, and looked after well by our steward (DeJello), a long walk to the nearest stairs / elevator due to no public access to the rear lift, particles of soot occasionally on the balcony due to wind movement but no big deal. Cabin was ample in size but with the dreaded shower curtain and we managed to get our luggage bags under the bed.

Port Reviews

Manila

Took the ships excursion due to the reported traffic congestion concerns which could run you late back to the Ship, could not hear what guide was saying unless you stood close to her - with 35 in the group this was not possible most of the time.

Bali

It took 3 1/2 hours to reach the mainland due to the Tender process from the ship, there was no time left to do as we had desired as the last Tender was due back at 17:30

Darwin

We did a foot tour around the main areas and park, very modern and clean - did not expect this. The new Harbourfront area has been put together well with the wave pool a major attraction. There was also a hop on - off Bus doing great business on the day which had the Harbourfront as one of it's stops.
