Review QM2 Nov 2016
I was so excited at the thought of sailing on the QM2, the ‘crème de la crème’ of ships, however I was disappointed. I am fairly new to cruising having only cruised twice on Celebrity in 2016 but I did expect that this would transpose the enjoyment and sheer luxury I had experienced on my previous cruises.
Our cabin, 5067 was a sheltered balcony almost mid ship. The cabin was fine and the cabin steward Roma excellent, however the bathroom was much smaller than I expected and the cabin although not much smaller than celebrity felt cramped. Being a November crossing it was far too windy/cold to utilise the balcony but it was worth the minimal additional cost because we would prop the balcony door open once light, while still in bed, and relish the bombardment of fresh air.
Cabin good - weather too cold to use balcony but great for circulating fresh air in cabin.
We ignored stated boarding time , waited a short time but otherwise boarding good
Despite comments that immigration can be a nightmare, we left ship at 8.00 and was in taxi on way to hotel at 8.30 am - process - easy, straightforward and efficient.
