Wife wanted to go on her first cruise. So we decided to split the vacation. Sort cruise out of Miami then some time down in the Keys. Cruise started out bad with long 4 hour delay with everyone stuck in the port waiting building. Not allowed on the ship but in this terminal building which was way overcrowded, not enough chairs. People sitting on the floor, only 4 vending machines with one of them not working and the others soon empty. No communication as to what the hold up was or when we would be able to board. Ship was suppose to leave port at 4:30 but we managed to pull out of port at 10:30, well there went on sunset at sea.

Now for the food. We ate three dinners in the dinning room and one at the buffet. Did not matter the food was just plain bad. Never once was it hot and at some points downright room temp. We usually ate the appetizer, salad and picked a bit at the poorly made main course. Also if we had a baked potato had to ask several time to receive butter or sour cream which of course potato was not warm enough to even melt. Also days of class must be gone on Carnival. On so called "Elegant dress night" we put on the decent slacks and jacket and the wife a nice dress. Guess most of the guests did not get the memo. Since most were in shorts tanks and less. But since half of your dinner the staff is singing happy birthday or happy anniversary at the top of the off key lungs, what does it matter anyway. We tried the buffet one night and it was if anything even worse, and you had folks who looked like they had not missed many meals but seemed to be of the mindset that this one was there last.

The activity's we really not good. They had trivia in a lounge which seemed like it may be fun, until I went and seen that the host could not speak English well enough for anyone to understand the questions. The "house band" I actually took a photo of just so I could show my buddies what the worlds worst cover band looks like.
