My wife and I wanted to visit several of the Hawaiian islands but not have to change hotels. We chose this cruise because we did not want to cross half of the Pacific to get to Hawaii. I sailed the seas when I was in the Navy and don't want to do it again. The only other cruise we took was a two week Med cruise on Holland America. That cruise exceeded our expectations. We did not choose Holland this time because they offer cruises to Hawaii from the California.
When we arrived on the ship about 1:00 pm they weren't ready for us. Passengers had to hang around wherever there was space until we could go to our rooms. Norwegian doesn't allow any down time to prepare for the next cruise. Current passengers disembark and new passengers embark on the same day. Once in the stateroom we waited for our luggage and then had to go find the missing pieces. Disembarking went smoothly.
Before we booked the cruise the travel agent told us that we were upgraded from a room with port hole to a window. The ship doesn't have port holes. The room was very cramped with a queen size bed with two fold down bunk beds one on each wall. It was about 8x16. I figured out after a couple of days that our bed was two twins locked together. We had one foot of space on each side of the bed with the fold down beds on the walls taking up the head room you need to stand up. We had to crawl on and off the foot of bed or sit up and scoot. One would think that the bed would be split so we would have had a two foot wide aisle.
The cabin is cramped with no where to sit except on the bed or one foot stool. There bunk beds attached to the side walls. I don't see how four people could stay in the room. If there are only two occupants ask the staff to split the bed so you'll have room to get around.
