It started out all wrong with a 3 hour line for checkin. No water, seating or apologies. We were 1.5 hours late in sailing. I've never been on a cruise where the luggage arrived at your cabin before you did. The dining room menus were pretty routine. Portions were small. They even counted the pats of butter. Average of 6 pieces of fruit for a starter dish of seasonal fruit. Cabin was standard Princess cabin, but showing its age, as was the entire ship. Cabin staff was good. There were signs of maintenance issues, like splattered paint all over the balcony furniture, and several nights the water and sewage systems were shut down for emergency repairs. There were also frequent sewage smells thru the ship. We thought it was going to be warmer, but many nights people watching Movies under the Stars were wrapped up in several blankets. The excursions were the best part of the trip. Nice tours in Nicaragua and Costa Rica (recommend the rainforest aerial tram and river cruise). We did Lima on our own with a private 2-day tour. All in all, the worst of our 5 Princess/Carnival cruises.
