Really positive experience overall, found the ship and most facilities clean and easy to navigate, although will add our first day embarking and settling in was confused, and some notice / info about needing Lanyards would have been good to know in advance. Also our stateroom was not set up for our family of four but just had two twin beds, which on boarding was a disappointment and meant delays in unpacking and settling in. The mandatory emergency drill was a great idea but no one seemed to know it was happening until it did, and then we were left standing on the deck without any indication of how long we would be there, ( only 10 mins). Small fry though, easily fixed.

After that, the rest of the cruise went smoothly and we had a great time. Out stateroom attendant Rommel was fantastic as were our regular wait staff in the Sapphire restaurant ( where we chose to have our evening meals). Windjammer cafe was handy for easy breakfasts and lunches. Only used one of the restaurants ( Izumi Japanese) which was great. Enjoyed the shows in the La Scala theatre which were great quality, loved the cocktails, the shore excursions, movies, duty free shopping and the Bingo! Kids enjoyed kids club and the gym facilities were A+. Getting a deckchair and some space to swim could be tricky so we tended to swim early and spend the afternoons on activities.

Eating meals at set times ( access to the MDR) could be inconvenient when you are not used to dining early. We took Travel wash and a travel clothesline for hand-washing smalls and bathers. Also did not buy drink packages but paid as we went on our card and saved $$ (We still had a cocktail each and a bottle of wine plus a few lemonades a day for the kids, but otherwise went to Windjammer and drank juices, cordials and water). Coffee is rubbish, even at the Cafe, so savour your last brew before you go. Our Cruise Director Mitch was fabulous, as was his entire team. The TV channel informative and the daily activity lists are massive! Got some great photos thanks to the on-board photographers. Not exactly restful but a great experience.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin H

The cabin was small but well set out to maximise space. There were plenty of cupboards and drawers. With four of us and four wheelie bags we had to put the bags under the bed and some things ( shoes) on top of the wardrobe to fit us all in. The room was relatively clean although we noted some stains on the doona which were not changed ( we asked and it was done with no issue). The bathroom tiny but fine, great pressure in the shower! Having the room made up in the morning and then again at night was great. Towel animals were a huge hit with the kids. One stateroom is ok for a few nights (5) but for longer trips you would need a bigger room or two rooms interconnecting for two adults and two kids, otherwise your tripping over eachother and getting desperate for your own space.
