We had not been to the Amazon before and chose this cruise for its Itinerary. We chose Oceania because we have sailed with them before enjoying their high quality dining, and excellent service. In part, this experience was spoiled by a bad shore excursions. One was advertised as a tour in a luxury 4 x 4 jeep to remote parts of Barbados. The tour was actually in the back of a truck and was completely on main roads. It was mostly a bumpy drive by at high speeds (40 - 50 km ph). Even the ship's escort said he was surprised by the vehicle supplied and it was certainly not luxury. Bench seats facing each other with spread legs of the man across from me in shorts that exposed his private parts. I spoke to a shorex clerk upon return and she said she would inform Paul the Manager and he would contact me. No one from the ship ever followed up in any way. On another Shore Excursion we were supposed to visit a Sugar Factory but it was closed when we arrived. There was also a beautiful mural on a long wall that should have been a highlight of that excursion, but only those sitting on the other side of the van could view it and those of us on the other side had no way to see over those sitting in front of us. We were disappointed to see these poor offerings from Oceania. A couple of other minor issues -- salt grinders almost never worked, and omelets are cross contaminated because the attendant makes two at a time using the same spatula for both transfering bits of one person's omelet to the other.
Small, but adequate. Asked for more hangers, but never got them.
