  • Cabin Type: Deluxe Stateroom with French Balcony

We started out trip in Munich with a few days there and in Salzburg. Our guides were locals who knew just where to find a special place to dine or find a souvenir for home. We ran into a little bump in that we were traveling to our ship during the Easter holiday and the Autobahn was crammed. Our guide, Werner, took us cross country though rural areas and small towns, not easy for our driver, we I think we all enjoyed that little detour.

Our ship, the Prestige was one of the older Viking ships, but maintained beautifully, cabins were spacious with plenty of storage to put your things away. The food was interesting as is followed the path of our trip, so we sampled several native dishes. Entertainment was also local and usually finished up by 10 pm so you could get to bed at a decent hour.

All the personnel on board were friendly and helpful, even if it wasn't their area of expertise and if they didn't have an answer, they immediately grabbed a manager or sent us to someone who could answer our question.

The shore excursions were all well organized and even had different levels of physical ability for those areas that were a little tougher on those not able to keep a good walking pace. You literally could take the same trip again, do all of the alternate excursions and have a completely different experience.

We are already looking at our next destination with Viking.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom with French Balcony
Cabin B 201

Rooms were well furnished with tons of storage. It was nice to put our stuff away and have plenty of room to walk around each other. Bathrooms were standard boat fare, but even they had ample storage cabinets and shelves. Housekeeping was spot on, never had to ask for anything and laundry services were wonderful, our clothes were either folded or hung up for us.

Walking Tour

Vienna wasn't a personal favorite, but they made it a unique experience for us by allowing us to travel with the chef to the open market - that was worth it!
