This was the second cruise on this ship, The Prestige. I chose to do this one again to see things I missed on the first cruise and because the crew are the very Best in my opinion. The staff went above and beyond taking care of everyone on board. I had a Single Cabin which is Great. The cabin had a couch which was turned into a twin bed at night. It wasn't like being on a sofa bed. There were no bars in the back, etc., just a nice twin bed. This was nice because during the day you had a couch to sit on and it made the cabin appear larger. The entertainment was Fabulous.....the piano player always did an excellent job and he played a variety of music. I really can't speak highly enough about this crew!! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to take a River Cruise and I believe no one can improve on the standards of a Viking River Cruise.

Cabin Review

Single Stateroom

Cabin CS

As mentioned above, by having a couch that became a twin bed made life very nice. It was comfortable to sleep on and by being returned to a couch each morning you had a lot more in your cabin. I was offered an upgrade by the company and I refused it so I could remain in this cabin.

Port Reviews

Budapest

I had taken the City Tour and one other the first time (April 2016). On my last trip I chose to tour the area on my own. I had a Blast the first time doing the excursions. The crew onboard was organized and prepared. The tour guides did an excellent job as well

Bratislava

I chose this time to go out on my own and found a Spa. It was a little chilly and damp so the Spa was perfect.

Vienna

Again this time I chose explore on my own instead of an excursion. I met up with friends from the area and I was introduced to a Wonderful Serbian restaurant. The food was Amazing and the company of friends even better. Then I spent the rest of my day in Vienna enjoying the remainder of my afternoon....of course the highlight was a melange and pastry at the coffeehouse. I did attend the Mozart and Strauss Concert that evening and had a Great time.

Durnstein (Krems)

The time here was short but I walked to the top of the hill to visit the castle which had once held King Richard the Lionheart. The scenery from the top was so Beautiful.

Melk

I wandered around town on my own visiting the local shops.

Linz (Salzburg)

I wandered through the streets checking out the shops and tea / coffeehouse. I also enjoyed watching the townspeople getting ready for the Christmas holiday.

Passau

Another of my favorite cities. I spent a couple of hours with a friend from the area so this made the stop even more enjoyable for me. I then wandered the streets and checked out the shops. A Turkish restaurant had been recommended to me so I had lunch there. It was very good. That afternoon I did the Bavarian Countryside tour. The location was sooo Beautiful and the people were extremely nice. I had a good time here as well.
