First River Cruise after having done 60 ocean cruises. Did not know what to expect. First let me say that Viking was awesome! Great ship and crew. The food was top notch. The ports were excellent. Our cabin was small but very nice and very efficient and exceeded our expectations. Local food and wines served at dinner and a free excursion every morning was included. These cruises do cost a little more than an ocean cruise but you do get several extras included. 140 guests, mostly Americans and we probably knew 100 by the time of departure. Had to change ships at the halfway point because of high water levels on the river but, it was no issue. The other ship we changed to was exactly the same even our cabin was the same room number and location. Viking is tops! I highly recommend them. I thought they were well prepared for anything.
