Sail Date: Nov 2016

I sailed with a group of ladies (6 of us) in November. We departed from Rome and ended in Athens. I was so impressed with the ship, staff, and entire experience. The ship was beautiful. I am still amazed how clean every area was. I looked like the ship was sailing for the very first time. Super clean and well cared for. Lovely contemporary décor that was beautiful and comfortable. The cabin was small but very comfortable. I was especially impressed with the bathroom. Well thought-out and convenient. Fantastic shower. Loved the heated floors. Bed very comfortable and lovely linens.

The restaurants were lovely and the food outstanding. The buffet was excellent with many choices beautifully prepared. Our group ate in Manfredi's several times and we were so impressed with the Rib Eye steak. My sister's husband raised beef and she stated the steak was one of the best steaks she had ever eaten and excellently prepared. Service was excellent. Very good burgers at the Grille by the pool. Tea each day was a wonderful experience.

The entertainment was good. We so enjoyed the guest enrichment lecturers. They were very informative and enlightening. They added to the excursions experience. We did both the included and purchased excursions. Guides were very knowledgeable. We were least impressed with the excursion on Cypress. We did the pre-cruise days in Rome. We were booked into a lovely hotel. One of our party missed their flight to Rome due to weather in the city they were departing from. I was so impressed how Viking made all necessary arrangements to get her to Rome on the next available flight (the next day) so she was able to enjoy Rome with us. I will always consider having Viking book the air lines after seeing how smoothly this was handled. I would not have wanted to try and do this on my own if it had happened to me. We all loved the ship experience and wished we could have just kept sailing indefinitely. We felt pampered and appreciated. Can't wait to do it again.

Cabin Review

Cabin Veranda GTY

The cabin was small but well thought out. Decor was very pleasant and well thought out. Restful, calming, comfortable. The beds were very comfortable with wonderful linens. Flet like we were sleeping in clouds. The balcony area was very nice but we did not use it that much. There was adequate storage and closet space for two ladies and all of our gear. Was very quiet. did not hear noise from adjacent cabins. Our cabin steward (Try) was wonderful and took care of your every need including changing my pillow to a more comfortable one for me. The cabin was always spotless. We felt at home each time we walked into the cabin.

Port Reviews

Rhodes

Very interesting. It turned cold and very windy this day. Rhodes is a beautiful island and we enjoyed seeing the country side.

Mykonos

Fun to see the country side.
