We wanted to try a slower paced cruise and fell in love with Viking Cruises. We arrived a couple of days before we set sail to explore our destination city of Amsterdam and stayed again in Budapest after the cruise which I'd highly recommend. Viking staff are top notch and our cruise director was the best. Because of low waters on the river we had to change ships and it was handled so smoothly we hardly missed a beat.

Food was excellent, excursions were wonderful and so interesting and the onboard entertainment was very good. As the ship is smaller than large cruise liners we made friends easily and met some wonderful people from different parts of the world. Our dinner table was always a great place to catch up on our days activities. We have taken many other cruises but river cruising is by far the most relaxing. We loved every minute and have already booked again for August 2017. Can highly recommend Viking River Cruises.
