We were especially interested in the combination of Paris and the Normandy Beaches aspects. The ship, staff, food, shore excursions, and all travel logistics were excellent! Not as many castles as some other cruises, but very much enjoyed the Seine River views of French villages and countryside. Had time to explore Paris, both on our own and with guided tours, both before departure and last day before leaving for home. The Normandy Beaches full-day excursion was very educational, emotional, and moving. For us personally it was the best part of the cruise. So much to see, had to pick and choose what we most wanted to see. The tours of The Louvre, Versailles, and Monet's gardens and home were great, both visually and educationally. The tour guides were excellent. This was our first river cruise and it was wonderful. The combination of excellent food and wine, service, and accommodations made the Viking cruise a great experience. Will definitely do it again with Viking!
