We really enjoyed our Viking River Cruise the prior year, so decided to try an Ocean Cruise with them as well. Viking does an amazing job of catering to the passenger's needs. Embarkation and disembarkation are a breeze! The ships are very new, and well maintained. The cabins are very spacious. We especially loved the heated floor and mirrors in the bathroom. Viking offers several dining options, including formal dining, buffet, and two 'specialty' restaurants, that are included in the price. They pride themselves on their educational sessions, and "port talks" so that the guests know what to expect in each port. They ensure you never miss an important announcement via daily news letter, and recording each education session for access in the privacy of your personal cabin at your convenience. Unfortunately, the entertainment was a little lacking on our first ocean cruise, and did not meet the standards of other cruises we have taken. Amenities offered on the ship and Service provided by the staff is top notch. Since ours was the first Cities of Antiquity and the Holy Lands Tour, we enjoyed most of the excursion, with a couple of exceptions.

Cabin Review

Cabin DV5 - Deluxe Veranda

The cabins are very spacious. Loved the heated floor and mirrors in the bathroom.

The cabin staff is excellent Though our cabin was a bit further forward than we usually prefer, we never experienced any problems with moving through the hallways or capacity on the elevators. We have travelled on several different cruise lines, and find the amenities on Viking to be the best.

Port Reviews

Athens (Piraeus)

We arrived a couple of days early and explored Athens on our own. Highly recommend if you have never been there.

Mykonos

Very engaging tour guide. We were there off-season, so were able to walk around the city with ease.

Limassol

Very pleasant port and informational tour.

Rhodes

Loved the architecture and culture of this old town!
