We chose to celebrate our 40th anniversary 2016 on a Viking River Cruise from Lyon to Provence after once again visiting my best friend in Paris where she has lived since '69. We began our travels in our late 20's so have been to Haiti in '76 to Turkey, Greece, Europe, Mexico, and many times to Paris and France. Never on a cruise before.
Our Viking Cruise experience exceeded our expectations! Given our past experience that says a lot.
We booked another Viking River Cruise for Spring 2017 going from Bordeaux through our favorite wine regions. We hope to chose yet another Viking River Cruise in 2018. Thinking ahead about the pleasure of it all definitely helps one get through the New England winter!
Cabin Review
French Balcony
We booked the same cabin so clearly we liked it. The cabin design is excellent, serene and uncluttered as are all the ship public spaces. Having a heated bathroom floor is very very nice in the middle of the night. The shower design is A+. We loved the French Balcony floor to ceiling window light, space, views. Closets, drawers were fine for me, but I pack relatively little and only ever travel with carry on luggage and one Longchamps back pack. My suitcase contains several light fine sweaters, silk scarves, two pair of shoes (wear one) 2 pair dark slacks (wear one) a non wrinkle shirt and a Viking cosmetic case!
