We have been on Viking cruises previous to this one......sailed from Amsterdam to Budapest 2 years ago and enjoyed that trip very much. We felt the quality of the food, service, and just the overall condition of the boats was better on our 1st trip
We booked two trips...northern and southern France....and found the boats were in need of some attention. Our cabin had an odor of sewage that was really never resolved and also was in need of some updating. For the most part, the ports and shore excursions were wonderful. We did have a problem with the bus in Normandy that caused us to miss part of our tour. Nothing was done to make up for this, nor was an an apology offered. Also, we found any meal that was provided off the boat was just not good. I would compare it to cafeteria food.
Embarkation and disembarkation for all trips were very well organized. We would consider booking another Viking cruise if it was on a newer boat.
I do not recall the cabin no. or category, but we did not have a balcony or veranda. We were in the least expensive (had to go downstairs) and had a window. The size of the cabin was fine and since we enjoy being in the common areas of the boat we don't mind not having a balcony. We felt the cabin itself needed to be refurbished.
