We chose the NCL Mediterranean Cruise because we like to get the most for our money. We traveled during the shoulder season when it is a little cooler, and the prices are cheaper. The up-side is you have fewer tourists, and you are able to "negotiate" with the vendors because they have fewer people shopping at one time. On shore excursions, we used private tours in Greece and Turkey and Viator in Italy. They were all excellent, and we enjoyed being able to pack in as much as possible. The local tour guides were great and took us to local establishments we would have missed in a larger group. The ship was nice and provided for a fun time at sea. We use the fitness room which was great (except it could get crowded on at sea days). We played cards in the common rooms and were able to get a little sun one day as it was warm enough. We wished we could have combined back to back cruises as some others did, but we had to get back to work. I would highly recommend this cruise if you want to get the biggest bang for your buck!
