5 nights on the boat I would categorize this as a taste of Cruising on the River. This is our 3rd Avalon Cruise and we decided to try a specialized tour at Christmas time and we enjoyed it. Started out in Prague and all stops exceeded our expectations. The Christmas markets we visited over this week got better as we headed to the variety of markets in Vienna. Our weather was good for early December but if it had snowed good shoes for slippery conditions would be needed on the cobble stone streets. We did experience some rain and good shoes are a must. I call this the beer and sausage tour but did sample the special market hot wines. You will like the special mugs each town creates for this. The only thing we wanted is to have a few more days on the river..In Vienna we found a Great Museum of Impressionist Artworks. Had lunch in the Museum Café and would recommend it.

Port Reviews

Prague

Have to visit but do it early in the day. Very busy.

Nuremberg

The Castle was not impressive but the Town square with Christmas markets is best at this visit.

Regensburg

Great little town and private markets . Don't forget to visit the Historic sausage house near the river.

Passau

A good walk but starts to look like the other markets we visited.
