This cruise opportunity came along at the right time without much forethought and proves that long-time plans aren't always necessary for a great trip. We found it easy to become familiar with our way around the Ruby and felt at home right away. Since we were turned off by the smoke in the casino, we learned to walk to the midship lifts on 12 when going to the dining room or Piazza. The bed was comfy and our cabin attendant took great care of us and our cabin. Room service was johnny on the spot with our morning coffee and tea to get our day started right. We enjoyed having a set dining time and found the meal selections were interesting and delectable. The entertainment in the Princess Theater and other venues was top-notch. The production numbers were entertaining and the comedian on-board kept us laughing long after his show. All in all, we'd sign up again in a heartbeat.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BE

Our balcony cabin was probably the smallest we've encountered but shows that good things can come in small packages. The balcony itself was quite comfortable and the location of the cabin (A235) was very convenient. We were just around the corner from Fwd lifts, very helpful when going to and from the Princess Theater. Plenty of storage was available in the desk, bedside tables, and closet areas. Since we need to avoid smoke due to allergies, the best path to the dining rooms was to take the hallway all the way aft to the mid-ship lifts so we weren't subjected to the stench coming from the casino on 6. I would have no problem requesting the same or similar cabin again.

Port Reviews

Puerto Vallarta

After agreeing on a price for touring the city, we were treated to the old "bait and switch" when we returned to the port. The price changed to a PER HOUR amount instead of PER TOUR. Lesson learned!
