My wife and I took this cruise for my 50th birthday. At the start we spent $22 for 2 beers (sticker shock!) and the bartender shook mine a bit so it foamed everywhere. The Garden Cafe served nasty recycled food. I had salmon spread on a cucumber for breakfast once and the leftovers were put on rolls for lunch. The sandwich rolls were hard as bricks and the burgers....(shaking head slowly). My wife had some sort of stew on March 3rd (my 50th B day) and spent all day Saturday with diarrhea. Not good.

We had a balcony room which was nice but the bathroom smelled like stale urine. There are 2 plugs to recharge your tech and one is in the bathroom. Water pressure for the shower was adequate and the bed was comfy enough. The TV is tiny and ours was mounted crooked. We found the closet light when we were packing to go home so Oops on us I guess.

Thirsty? Unless you buy the beverage package there is no place to simply get a soda or bottled water to drink unless you pay exorbitant money at a bar for which there are many or but the water package which we did. There are so many bars we dubbed the cruise "The Drunkening". I must admit I was amused watching middle aged people dance like drunken idiots on the pool deck. Who would have thought you could see a trainwreck 500 miles out to seas but there he was...dancing like a stripper wearing only a speedo. I can't un-see that BTW :(

Port Reviews

New Orleans

The port in New Orleans is not laid out well. It's hard to get to and there's no where to park. We ended up parking at the local Hilton and had to schlep our luggage a mile through a river-walk mall twisting and turning on escalators too narrow for our luggage. It was a darn nightmare.

Harvest Caye

The port itself is only a few years old and is very modern and clean. It's hot and they spared no expense when it comes to keeping cool. There are fine misters everywhere and I made good use of them. There are several shops and they are spread out nicely. I bought a chocolate bar at the chocolate shop...bad idea....it was way to bitter for the cocoa % on the label so I tossed it out.
