Sail Date: Aug 2016

We have had many opportunities to sail with Viking on their river cruises where we daily experienced their professionalism of putting the passenger first in comfortable accommodations, over the top meals, cultural entertainment, enjoyable fact learning tours, etc. We then decided we wanted to try their new ocean cruise ships, so we chose the Empires of the Mediterranian cruise. Prepare to be 'blown away'...Viking did NOT disappoint.

The ship itself is a work of art. Even with 900 guests, we never ever felt a crowded feeling in any area or venue. We started our day early with an hour fast walk around the top deck...what beautiful views and the experience of coming into port. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all culinary experiences. Every staff member was professional, friendly and courteous every day....we were pampered.

The small group excursions each day were well planned and all led by very knowledgeable guides. Viking provided many opportunities to experience a variety of tours in each port. I really liked the staff greeting us with drinks, when we returned to the ship.
