I'd chosen the cruise because I wanted to see life along the Mekong River, particularly with a view to photography.
I was not disappointed with the Jayavarman experience. It's a beautiful boat and all of the arrangements ran like clockwork. It was great having a private balcony and also the choice of public areas if we wanted to chat with others. It was a sociable experience as we often shared a table at mealtimes, but there were tables for 2 if people did not feel like socialising.
The staff could not have been more helpful - the young Cambodian girls were a delight, always smiling and welcoming.
A delightful space, not huge as the boat was not very big, but the room was big enough for the 2 of us.It had a minibar, mosquito nets around the bed, air conditioning and a safe which was large enough for a laptop. It was prettily decorated giving the feeling of luxury. The private balcony was also welcome.
