Let me start by setting the scene for anyone who reads this. This is my first review on this site, but not my first cruise with Carnival.
I am a 28 year old man from Alabama, and I sail with my wife, Sara, who is 24. We have only sailed with Carnival, and based on our last three cruises with CCL, we will be hard-pressed to try another Cruise Line.
We do a cruise every Spring Break, as my wife is a school teacher and lord knows teachers need an escape before the last months of the school year. We sail out of New Orleans because 1) I know the city very well, & 2) we are able to drive and save the expense of having to fly. We initially chose Carnival because of the price. I have had many phone calls with other cruise lines and travel agents, and I have yet to find anyone who can get my wife and I on a boat for near the price of Carnival. Just as a disclaimer: We can afford to sail with any cruise line, but I place a heavy emphasis on value, ie. getting something for my money. I understand that everyone wants something different in their cruise, and I only intend to share whats important to us, and not belittle anyone else's opinion.
Bigger than Interior and Oceanview. Balconies are big enough for 2 people with chairs and a table. Plenty of storage and a safe for valuables. You dont spent a lot of time in your cabin, but if you had to this room would suit nicely.
Easy to navigate and well organized. New Orleans is the perfect city to sail from!
Not clean, 12 ft barbed wire around port area. Shops are repetitive and if you have seen one you have been in them all.
Food is really good though, sit down at a bar and have a beer and some jerk chicken!
