We chose this cruise for a spring break family vacation. This was our first family cruise and we (the adults) were very disappointed. We felt that we spent the entire week standing in line. Whether it was waiting for mediocre food, or disembarking at port, the lines were awful. It took us an hour of being squished in a stairwell to exit the boat at each port. The lines were poorly organized and no one really knew where to wait and where to go. It was not a great way to spend our vacation.

The food was very mediocre. We found dinner to be relaxing and the service to be good in the anytime dining in the Sapphire restaurant. We tended to eat by 6 pm and had no wait at that time. They were quite good with my gluten dietary restrictions. I was able to order my meal the night before so that the gluten free was available. However, lunch and breakfast were a different story. The buffets were very crowded and much of the staff didn't speak English well enough to answer questions about the food and help me find true gluten free options. There was a shortage of vegetables on the ship as well. With few gluten free options, vegetables would have at least been a sure thing for me. My kids loved the ice cream, pasta, and bread available everywhere, all the time. Baked potatoes and hot dogs were another big hit. Certainly not gourmet but the kids were happy.

The pools and decks were crowded as expected but we were able to find some spots between the pools and the slides so the kids could run back and forth. My only complaint here was the cigarette smoke. Even when we were on the opposite side of the boat from the smoking area, it was hard to escape.

Cabin 8A

We had two adults and two children in this room. The bunk beds were clever and worked fine. Of course the room was tiny and it was hard to fit all our stuff in the room but it was comfortable enough.

Port Reviews

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Unfortunately our stingray city tour was canceled due to weather. While some boats were going out, our operator canceled and gave us a full refund. After talking to other people who did go out, we were confident our operator made the right decision to cancel. Others paid to go out to the sandbar but many couldn't get out of the boat because the waves were so big. Highly recommend Moby Dick.
