Pre-trip Ha Long Bay, (Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City) Hanoi, Siem Reap (Angkor Wat), Mekong River Cruise, Ho Chi Minh City

We have never been taken care of so well on any other Viking River Cruises as we were on the Viking Mekong. This was our fifth river cruise with Viking (Danube, Paris/Normandy, China, and Russia prior). Bob(Tuyen Nguyen) met us at the airport in Hanoi, he took us under his wing and catered to us with knowledge, humor, care, and sensitivity throughout the entire trip until we left Ho Chi Minh City to fly back home. There was no problem with anything because of Bob. He performed all details necessary for us, so we could just sit back and enjoy .He always was concerned about our well being and satisfaction. His knowledge of Vietnam helped us meld with the culture. His assistant guide for Cambodia, Hang "Phany" was as good as they are. His knowledge of Cambodia was outstanding. Along with his caring demeanor, the service he provided was 5 Star. Bob also gave us a wonderful memory of our trip by photographing the highlights of everything we saw, along with candid pictures of our group. The hotels we stayed at were all 5 star. The dining arrangements on board the ship, the hotels, and throughout the trip were great. The rooms aboard the ship were comfortable. The crew were the happiest most accommodating people we have encountered with Viking. The excursions and special activities provided by Viking made this itinerary unique to all others. This trip was an amazing adventure for my husband and I, along with four others traveling with us.

Doubtful if another itinerary could top this one; although, maybe if Bob (Tuyen Nguyen) was the guide????

Cabin Review

Standard Outside Stateroom

Cabin was smaller than other Viking ships but plenty adequate ,including air conditioning. Chairs outside rooms were available instead of balconies. All rooms aboard seemed the same. There was plenty of storage for clothes in room. Personal wake-up service was provided by crew.
