This was my 9th cruise and the 4th for NCL and also my first solo cruise. I live in Upstate NY so I had a 35 minute ride to the pier, dropped off by a friend so I did not have to use the parking lot which is so expensive. I arrived at the pier around 11:30am and dropped my carry-on bag in the room around 12:45p and went to the Garden Café for lunch.

I really loved my studio room. It's just enough for 1 person and had plenty of closet space and areas for storage. The only drawback to the room was, I could hear the man next door to me snoring every night accept the first night. Meaning, that the walls might be a little too thin. When I came in at night or afternoon, I did let the door SLAM just to give him a jolt. This person barley left the room. No matter what time of day or night I came in, he would be in the cabin snoring. I had to ask the steward to arrange my bed covering on the other end of the bed so I would hear less of the snoring. It sounded like he was right next to me in bed. ANNOYING! Other than that, I loved the room and would book a studio again if going solo. The studios also have connecting rooms so you can go with another person and you each have your own cabin. The solo lounge was nice. There was a solo traveler gathering most nights around 5:30pm which I only attended once because I was doing other things. I guess other solo travelers were doing other things as well because it was often empty other hours. It had a wine station which you had to pay for, a bar which the bar tender would be their around 5:30pm or so for an hour to two. But there were snacks like different cookies pound cake, water, fruit, orange juice, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate throughout the day and night which was great. I highly recommend a studio cabin for a solo traveler.

I thought the complimentary dining was good. I do think the service and food in the main dining rooms could be better. Staff not as personable as another cruise line that I've been on. Two nights I did eat with other solo travelers which was nice. I want to the buffet 3 nights, seafood night, Caribbean night and grill night, and enjoyed them all. As I was travelling solo, finding a set in the buffet was not an issue for me but even still, I saw a lot of space for families to sit. Up just have to walk around and not go where the crowd go. I eat in O'Sheehan's a couple of times. It's open 24/7 Woo Hoo!
