We chose this cruise because of the convenience for us to depart and return to Miami, for Oceania's reputation for good food, and for the experience of cruising on a smaller ship than we had previously experienced. Embarkation at noon was very fast and easy. We immediately lunched at Waves. I had a surf and turf on a roll - lobster and steak. Bad start for me. The lobster was undercooked and the dish did not sit well on my stomach. We were called to our stateroom between 1:30-2. I will review our very small cabin separately.
The public rooms on the ship are stunning. Many have beautiful ceilings, and all have lovely, cozy traditional furnishings. There are many inviting small conversation areas. The library is especially lovely - it has a tasteful bird theme, lots of books, and a fabulous ceiling. Much care went into the selection of furnishings and accessories throughout the ship. I found the fitness center well equipped for my needs.
The service was excellent - from our cabin crew to the wait staff. Each crew member was responsive to any request we made.

Concierge Level Veranda Stateroom
The cabin was small. My husband and I could not fit past each other at the foot of the bed - it was a narrow passage even for one person. There was ample closet space and decent storage space in drawers and shelves. It was nicely appointed, with two large mirrors to make it appear bigger. Neither of us was particularly comfortable in Oceania's very highly touted beds. The bathroom was VERY small and storage was just fair. The shower was tiny.

Charleston
We found the shp's excursions overpriced, so went to the Charleston Visitor Center on a free bus, saw a great film there on Charleston's history, and took an inexpensive minibus tour from the Center. The guide had previously taught at the local college, and proved very knowledgeable and articulate.
