The NCL Spirit is an older ship. The smaller size makes it a lot more comfortable than the big mega ships floating around these days. The bathroom was average. It did have an enclosed glass shower ( not a curtain, but glass doors) as well as a glass enclosed toilet area. I found the food in the buffet better than the food in the dining rooms. The selection of the morning buffet did not change, but the evening buffets changed daily. Now for the big surprise, the food in the Specialty Restaurants ( Le Bistro and Cagneys) was under seasoned. I have been to several of the restaurants on other NCL cruises, and this was the the first time everything came out on the bland side. The temperature and presentation was normal, but everything as just lacking flavor. We had an outside large window room that was average. The only issue was that there seemed to be a little moldy smell the carpets in the hallways outside, and the same smell was faintly detected in the bathroom. The onboard entertainment was much better than on other NCL Cruises ( I am not talking about the shows, but the entertainment in the lounges) . This was the first time I was not overwhelmed by the bar staff everytime I sat down. Most of the time, I had to flag down a server to get a drink, or just walk up to the bar. This cruise director was not in your face ( like all the announcements you hear thru out the day). The size of the ship and the ports were what made the trip truly enjoyable. The smaller size is nice at disembarkation

Cabin OC

Had steward turn beds into a king. Bed and pillows were comfy. Room can hold 4, but it was just us 2. Far enough from the elevators so you don't hear noise, and towards the front of the ship, so not a long hallway for people to meander down to reach their own rooms. Easy access from deck 6 to everything ( once you figure out the RED carpet is the elevators you want to use). Very quiet.

Port Reviews

Crete (Heraklion)

Got an off ship tour that took us to see the ruins of The Temple Of Apollo and other ruins

Venice

Make sure if you every sail out of Venice Italy that you go up ti the Observation Deck ( Sky Lounge). You sail out via the Canal and the sights are amazing.

Limassol

got an off shore tour that took us to Pathos. Wonderful seaside town to see ruins and relax in the port with meals and drinks

Haifa (Tel Aviv)

The old Jerusalem tour was fantastic. The only problem was that we arrived on Passover and most of everything was closed ( no souvenir shopping).

Kotor

easy walking town right off ship

Rhodes

My FAVORITE. Walk around the old town ( not far from dock) and wander and eat and drink. Lots to see and do. Very friendly and speak english

Split

Got off ship tour and was fantastic. Old City ( not too far from ship) is amazing
