The Breakaway was indeed a megaship….but very impersonal.

I've been on four NCL cruises. They were on smaller ships. I chose this particular cruise ship because I was excited to try one of their larger ships. However, to my dismay the service and warmth I felt on their large ship was night and day.

It seems that the staff is not overly friendly because they are either overwhelmed or just way too busy trying to accommodate the demands set forth on them. I have not gotten to know the staff and vice versa as I have on NCL's smaller ships, and I did not walk away with a feeling of a fantastic vacation. It was a good trip, but nothing more.

I did notice on numerous occasions that the staff all over the ship simply made eye contact with me, then looked away without any kind of greeting whatsoever. It was not my imagination either because my daughter felt that the attention given was definitely lacking.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BA

I've been in both inside and outside ocean view cabins on NCL, and this was my first midship balcony stateroom booked. It was nice and spacious for myself and my daughter.
