We did the Southern Caribbean itinerary out of San Juan - we love that one because you hit so many islands (St Maarten; St Kitts; Antigua; St Lucia & Barbados).
We are gold members (I had cruised with RC once before) & from dropping our luggage off at the curb to boarding the ship, was a total of 5 minutes!!!! SUCH an efficient process! Newbies/friends of ours who hadn't cruised RC before - it took them about 15-20 minutes to board. Still great!!
The ship was spotless; no plumbing issues; delicious food & SO MUCH variety all week in Windjammer & Main Dining Room. Waterslides & Flowrider were FUN!
We love interior because it's inexpensive & so nice to sleep in the dark! It felt spacious compared to Carnival interior rooms. The shower was a little tight but again, who cares. You're there to enjoy the islands, not take long showers.
Took a cab to Cockleshell Beach for the day; beautiful & fun! Then stopped at Timothy Hill on the way back to port for gorgeous photos!
Wanted to go to Nelson's Dockyard & Shirley Heights for the day but the taxi drivers were SO aggressive in port. They wouldn't take us where we wanted & fought us to do something else. We were not pleased with the situation so decided to go to Runaway Bay which was a 5 minute drive. Thank goodness because the van we got into was in TERRIBLE shape. We never felt unsafe but didn't like the experience. If you want to go somewhere other than a beach within 10 minutes of port, book an actual tour/driver so you don't have to deal with them!!
