This was our first river cruise and we chose the Viking Rhine Cruise. We had two other couples join us and we all had a wonderful time. We booked airfare through Viking and the transfers were painless and timely. We were all impressed with the facilities and accommodations from the ship to the buses used for the on shore visits. Each couple had a french balcony cabin that proved just perfect for the time spent in the room. The dining offered a variety of local specialties. Each port offered opportunities for excursions of various interests. We were impressed with the Kinderdijk excursion and the Colmar Pocket excursion. We decided to extend our vacation by three days spent in Basel, Switzerland. There was a Viking concierge at the hotel. He helped us greatly since it was a rainy few days and we wanted to best use our time there. We are all now planning another on the Danube next year.

French Balcony

Cabin D

Cabin was very compact, not a single space wasted. Large window with sliding door made the room feel larger.

Port Reviews

Amsterdam

We did our own walking tour of the city.
