Overall, we rate this cruise as Average, based mainly on the superior service of the crew and the general cleanliness of all public spaces onboard. The quality of the food in all venues was a little sub-par from our previous experience on the Legend (in 2014), as were the evening performances in the re-named Follies showroom. The worst part of the whole cruise was embarkation in Seattle. All passengers had received letters informing them of when to embark. Apparently we all were assigned the same times! My wife and I usually travel FTTF, so our assigned boarding time of 12:00 pm was consistent with priority boarding. When we arrived, there were already 1200-1500 persons standing in line, with no priority lanes. US Customs was actually operating a single checkpoint, with a single agent manning it. It took hours to board, and it is hard to express the level of pure chaos that was endured. Anyone else who witnessed the elderly woman falling face-first on the final escalator can attest to that. We will never cruise from the Port of Seattle again. We used private shore excursions this trip, so did not rate the cruise offerings.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Oceanview cabin on Starboard side. Room steward was fantastic, and these rooms are in a great location for shore excursions and evening entertainment. Didn't feel the need for a balcony is such a cold climate, which is just as well, since it was raining quite a bit of the time anyway.

Port Reviews

Seattle

Worst embarkation experience in several years of cruising. Beautiful city with fine attractions is marred by the legion of homeless and other street people found throughout the city center. Hey Seattle, New York City, circa 1982 is calling... they want their bums back!

Ketchikan

By this point in the cruise both of us were getting sick, so we opted top stay in port and shop. Also, it rained the entire day without any letup, so I'm sure many outdoor plans were washed up. There are a lot of shops in Ketchikan, but they all sell basically the same stuff. BTW, for those of you inclined to fib on your health documents, the rest of our cruise was collateral damage from your negligence. (we saw several obviously sick boarding... I complained at the time and was told to mind my own business).
