We wanted to try a river cruise snd explore new parts of Europe. We were uncertain about the other offerings and booked based on Crystal's reputation. Our experience exceeded expectations. The service was impeccable. The vessel was thoughtfully decorated and felt very high end. The food was wonderful, well presented, and perfectly prepared. There were several special touches- a private concert in the Belvedere Palace where we were greeted with champagne, special onboard entertainment, some lovely excursions (most complementary), and a special dinner at a Michelin star restaurant.
Le Ciel was the passenger favorite for restaurant options and we were so pleased to have dinner there. If it is booked, get wait-listed. The Budapest restaurants did not receive the same comments, so I would avoid them.
Most tour guides were knowledgable and friendly. Czesky Krumlov was very social and the brewery a highlight of our trip-skip Munich-so not worth it from what we heard.
Agree that the smaller cabins can feel a bit cramped, but that was more than offset by the amenities. We had to ask our butler for evening hours d'oevres, which are included, but that was the only misstep. When you arrive and unpack, send out clothes for pressing (no charge).
You will feel pampered and relaxed at the end of this trip!
Loved the toilet- heated seat, constant self cleaning, built in bidet.
The cabin is a bit cramped but very luxurious.
Didn't really like the lower location, but got used to it.
Wonderful city to explore by foot or on the Ringstrasse
