FOOD and DINING

The same comments about the food I would agree with. The food and service was inconsistent. The food in the Bistro was good. Unless you go early, we had a short wait. Our longest wait was about 30 minutes. Compared to what we had to pay in Hawaii post cruise for food that was very costly but not that good, the Bistro is an excellent value. We paid 80.00 for a two course meal twice on land and while is was good, it was not better than most nights in the dining room. They could use some lessons in seasonings though. Service overall was slow due to being so short staffed. Breakfast buffet was as good as many I have paid over 15.00 pp for but avoid the scrambled eggs. If they have the omelette station and the big Belgian waffles, you may like these. Good fruits unless they run out. I do not like their tea, but that is always a personal issue--some loved it because it was strong. I never had a problem with seating in the buffet that some others alluded to. I did NOT care for the food at dinner time in the buffet. It could definitely have been better. The barbeque hamburger meat was NOT good. The ribs were boiled I believe which is not barbeque to me, and the steaks were icky to me. They never had chicken when I got to the line. We "attended" two of their barbeques. Temper my opinion here though, because we go to barbeque competitions several times a year through the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and other charity and competitive barbeque events so our expectations may be high on this one. Another observation, while not a big deal, was that there were no ice or fruit carvings on this ship. They did not have enough cooks let alone ancillary personnel to do these extraneous things. Besides the pay for venues, the dining was the "weakest link" of this cruise, although still acceptable.
