We have sailed on larger ships with, of course, more passengers and enjoyed those cruises. But there is something really special about a small ship and American Cruise Lines stands out in every way. We have just completed our fourth trip with ACL and every trip has been fun, relaxing, and unique. This trip was to Maine and if you love lighthouses, don't miss this itinerary. While you cannot get to all the lighthouses because of their locations, you will pass many and while seeing a beautiful part of our country.

The staff is exceptional, the food absolutely wonderful (with a chef who truly caters to the passenger), accommodations clean and comfortable. Every evening begins with gathering in the lounge-a spacious, warm, comfortable area, with appetizers and cocktails and lots of fun people. (We seem to always add new friends from each cruise) From there you dine together, free to sit with guests of your choosing or meeting new ones, for a delightful dinner, great wine, and wonderful food. There is entertainment in the evening-again in the lounge.

The staff is knowledgeable and helpful about the ports and activities and the crew is extremely professional in all aspects of sailing, disembarking, and embarking. We will be doing a fifth cruise next year for sure. If you are very active the cruise is for you and if you have limited mobility the cruise is for you, as well! A very well-run cruise company-thank you to all who work hard to make it the best!

Cabin Review

Cabin AAL

We requested a king bed which was very comfortable with quality linens. Every day our room and bathroom were cleaned promptly with fluffy towels replaced. The balcony is small but roomy enough for two chairs and a table and is a favorite spot to relax with a glass of wine. We have never heard the guests next to us which makes your time in the stateroom peaceful. Seasickness has never been a problem because the ship is stabilized though once in a while you could feel a bit of a roll but nothing extreme at all-after all you are on a ship! My husband and I would do the trip again but there are so many others to try first.
