We are 'elite' rating and have travelled on many Princess ships. We were happy until now. Here is our summary, first the good part: food as good, piazza is lovely, lots of things similar to other Princess ships. But here is the bad part: cabin seemed smaller, 17th deck walking track is user unfriendly as you just cannot keep walking but have to enter the basketball court and exit on each walking round (strange design), walking track is dangerous when wet (I fell), definately do not board this ship if you want to smoke! The smoking area on the 17th deck is totally exposed to wild sea weather. Assuming you were indeed able to light your cigarette be careful as the ash flies around in the strong sea winds and may burn holes into your clothes. But if it rains just forget smoking alltogether as there is no rain protection at all.The seats could be easily dried with a towel when the rain stops, but you will have to do this yourself most likely. Could not see staff there for some time after the ra I n stopped. Not enough ashtrays and small tables but after Kuala Lumpur more ashtrays arrived. One more thing. Why on earth would Princess enter an Indian port (Cochin)??? Getting the visas was a challenge and extremely expensive ($A200 per person for us). Add to that the immigration entry fiasco on the day of our arrival in Cochin (it took almost 2 hours to go ashore!) and one wonders why an experienced cruise line would punish their passengers with this? So, to sum up, do not book this ship if you smoke or enjouy doing your rounds on a walking deck. How will the Chinese/Asian customers (who tend to smoke a lot?) Cope with this ship? What kind of ship design/market research people does Princess hire?
