We chose this cruise as we wanted to go to the Norwegian Fjords on a seven night cruise as this seemed to fully fulfill our requirements. We have had wonderful experiences on cruises with Princess, Cunard, RCI and NCL and we expected a similar experience with P&O but boy were we disappointed. This was very much a down market experience.

First the good bit the cabin and its servicing was excellent as good as any that we have had although I would not get excited about the glass shower door. Personally I prefer the shower curtain as it does not take up space in the bathroom when open but that is a small thing. A much bigger point was the lights. I have stayed in many hotels where the room lighting is totally inadequate but that was not the problem here. Instead it was the fact that there were no separate bed reading lights meaning that the lights were on for both people or off for both. The cabin decor like the rest of the ship was very bland and uninteresting. Did someone really design this?

The Horizon Restaurant was poor with a lot of the poor selection of food cold and the staff rude and unhelpful. Then there were the trays. If P&O were trying to create a cross between school meals and a down market transport cafe then they certainly succeeded. This was not a memorable experience. The choice of drinks was also limited as compared with other cruise lines.

Cabin GE

Excellent apart from the lighting and I would have preferred a shower curtain
