I have been on Queen Elizabeth before and loved her very much. My son and his partner decided that they would like to take a short cruise so as I had always wanted to travel on the Queen Mary 2 we decided this would be a good one to try.

Our embarkation was quite good as I have disabilities so we had priority boarding. The cabin was good too but we never once saw our cabin steward which is unusual. I was so excited to explore the ship was I really did not like the layout at all. I thought the buffet was so unorganised and the food there was not good. There were large queues and no tables. Also I just could not get used to it not being on one of the higher decks. Also being a smoker there was only one area to smoke in and that was at the back of the ship and there was a lack of ashtrays and lighting in the evening.

Dinner was also a disaster, we met some lovely people at our table but when we dinned the next evening we were put on a different table and I was very disappointed. We also didn't think much of the food, the steak I had was really tough and everybody was moaning about it. We also waited on the second night for ages to get our wine and had nearly finished our meal when it arrived. This was not something I would expect from Cunard. Afternoon tea was also a disaster with no organisation at all.
