Our experience on the MSC Divina was hit or miss for most of the week. It would have been nice to know about the "kids travel free" promotion before we booked because there were kids everywhere. Do not take this cruise if you want a relaxing, romantic vacation. There were kids running up and down the hallways, they would jump in front of you to order their (non alcoholic) drinks at the bars, race up and down the stairs, cut in front of you at the buffet, and hog every pool and hot tub on the ship. Parents would even bring their kids into the only "adults only" area of the ship to sit at the bar and take up precious deck chairs. There was no place to go to escape these kids!

Besides the abundance of rude children on the boat, we had to contend with incompetent bar staff. It would be nice for all the bar staff to be aware of daily and ongoing specials. On more than one occasion, we would inquire about a special we had read about in the daily newsletter and the bartender would tell us he couldn't give us that special or it was only for a certain bar on the ship. Another time, my husband ordered a bucket of beer and the promotion said "buy 4, get the 5th beer free". He was charged for 5 beers and when he asked about the promotion that was displayed on the bar, the bartender had no idea what he was talking about. Another bartender reluctantly fixed the charge.

Our room was nice and the attendant was quick to get us whatever we needed. Thankfully, there were no kids next door to us, but we could hear kids running up and down the hallways, screaming, every day. Where were their parents? Read more
