We chose this cruise as it was the only 7 night itinerary leaving from Stockholm. Living in Scotland, we did not want to travel to Southampton to sail the Baltics. It was my 7th cruise, 2nd on Celebrity, and my friends first cruise. We are two females in our late fifties.
We stayed 2 nights in Stockholm prior to the cruise. On embarkation day We travelled to the port on the number 76 bus from Gamlamstan Stan. There was about a ten minute walk to the ship which was well sign posted. We arrived at the port about 10.45am and were on board enjoying our mimosa by 11.15am. We then enjoyed a coffee and pastry in Cafe al Bacio before exploring the ship from top to bottom. We went for some lunch in the buffet and on leaving at 1.30pm the announcement was made that the cabins were ready.
We had chosen a 2C balcony cabin with an obstructed view, number 6305. The obstruction was the roof of Blu restaurant. You look directly out but couldn't look straight down to the sea. We were very pleased with our cabin choice. It had a larger balcony and we were the last cabin on the port side so it was very quiet. Our room steward Satish kept it immaculate. When we arrived the beds were already separated.
Bed was by bath. Larger balcony which was covered. Very quiet as last cabin on port side
Took 76 bus to Gamla Stan. Went to Royal Palace to watch changing of the guard. We had already spent 2 days in Stockholm and the weather wasn't great so we returned to the ship.
Took the shuttle bus to town. Walked around the market and visited the cathedrals.
Walked to the Old Town and walked around. Lovely place with lots of lovely linen shops
