I wanted to write this on the Royal Caribbean Survey, but there wasn't a spot to put it...

Coco Cay was a very nice, relaxing day on the beach, but we had a couple hiccups. We took our 17 year old daughter. They offered a 3 hour Teen Excursion at 9 am for 13-17 yr olds to go snorkeling to see sea turtles; the sunken plane & ship ect; and to go to the floating water park. We thought this would be a great opportunity for her to do something on her own and meet some friends her age... well, we sent her off on her excursion and I went to the gym with plans of going to the island for our own snorkeling after the gym & breakfast, then meet for lunch after her excursion was done. While I was on the treadmill on the ship, I got a call that I had to check her into the excursion. Ok, so I went downstairs- still in gym clothes... then they told me I had to go over to the island with her to drop her off. I asked if I could come right back because I was not prepared to be on the island yet (still in gym clothes and sneakers) they said yes, just dropping her off and coming right back, so I went right from there. Once we got there, they go over the itinerary & safety precautions ect... then we had to walk over to sign wavers ect... THEN I was asking if I could go back to the ship and they told me I had to stay with her till 10:30!?!? I was had say no. The point in signing her up for that was so she could do something on her own, she's 17, not 10, plus, I had someone on the ship that didn't even know I was gone & I had the room key; I had not eaten yet & I was still in gym clothes and sneakers- I had no swim suit or sunblock or anything with me, I was not prepared to be on the island, they told me I could drop her off and go right back. They eventually let me leave. I went to the tender to go back & they made me walk all they back around the building to go through security, by the time I was done, I missed the tender. Waited 15 minutes for the next one, got on and the tender sat another 15 minutes or so before it left while the captain drank coffee and talked to other workers outside of the tender. This whole ordeal ruined our morning. After going back to change & eat, by the time we got to the island, it was already time to meet my daughter after her excursion and they were serving lunch. She was hungry, so we hunted for a table. Once lunch was over, we really didn't get much time to enjoy the island before we had to go back. It was a short day. We walked the straw market and relaxed in the water & on the beach for a little while, but we didn't have time to do the nature walk or snorkel. We would have enjoyed the day more if the morning wasn't ruined by the teen excursion mess.

Also we brought our own pro snorkel gear, which my daughter was not allowed to use. They made her use the public snorkel and she got sick not long after. this is not an excursion I would do again.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

We had 2 cabins for our family. Both were kept clean - the staff was great at attending the rooms. Everytime we came back to our rooms, everything was clean and made. I loved the towel animals. The balcony was amazing and I think I will always get a suite with a balcony in the future.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Getting on and off port was fine. this was home, not an excursion.
