Princess had the right British Isles itinerary and that is what we went for. We had low expectations for the ship based on a previous cruise with Princess and Cruise Critic reviews, and it was about as expected. Princess would not be our first choice for another cruise.
Pros: embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly, new mattress was very comfortable, staff friendly, ports did not disappoint. The new World Market remodel did tend to reduce lines waiting at the different food stations.
Cons: Food was barely adequate. Lido breakfasts were poor. A lot of canned fruit and melon. The salad bar had canned vegetables, few choices of toppings. There was a separate gluten free area if that is important to you. All food was self-serve except in one small area. Usually crowded and often had to walk around or wait for a table. Wait staff were prompt with coffee and clean up. No hand sanitizers at the entrances of the Lido, although there was a hand washing station not very many people seemed to use. Lunches were warmed over previous nights' leftovers. Much of the food was left on the warming trays too long.
We chose a mini-suite so our granddaughter could have a sofa bed. The cabin was big enough there was adequate room to hang clothes and several shelves and drawers. No hooks except on the back of the bathroom door. Mattress was comfortable, but although she didn't complain, the mattress on the sofa bed was thin and hard. The bathroom had a cloth curtain, towels were old and scratchy, tile was clean but old and dingy. Good counter space but tight for two people. We did not have plumbing problems as others did, but the hot water was barely hot enough.
