We chose this cruise because of the nice assortment of port stops in the itinerary. We were pleasantly surprised by several things about the ship. First, the cabin was, while not roomy, very comfortable and ingeniously laid out. It took a little while to get used to the unusual toilet/shower arrangement, but it turned out to be fine. The bed was, indeed, too short for me (six feet tall), just as we had heard about from other cruisers. But despite that, it was very comfortable and the room was amazingly QUIET! More than once my wife remarked that the room seemed to be able to shut out all noise coming from hallway, next door, or even outside in the busy ports. It made sleeping very pleasant!

The entertainment was simply spectacular! We saw Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and Burn The Floor. They were both some of the best live shows we've ever seen. Top notch quality here.

The food was adequate for the most part. Some good points were the variety and the availability. It never got boring or repetitive. However, some of the quality suffered from the typical high-volume production of food that all large establishments fall into. Staff were excellent and we were treated very well in the "order off a menu" restaurants. The buffet was quite chaotic and often we struggled to find a seat. But the variety of food, the cleanliness of the dining area, and the demeanor of the staff were all pluses.

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Getting to Civitavecchia from Rome Airport is expensive and time-consuming. Also, very complicated procedures for getting past security. Bus shuttles were poorly labeled. Confusing.

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

Castle Belvere was really worth the trek. Otherwise, Palma is pretty but not very notable.

Barcelona

You need much more than one day for Barcelona! This place is remarkable. We visited La Sagrada Familia and Casa Mila and both were thoroughly amazing!

Naples

We just walked around different areas of the city (I was born here and made the trek to the neighborhood I lived in as an infant!). The energy level is a bit frantic and you should be careful where you go, but overall a very vibrant city.
