I was very underwhelmed and disappointed with my experience cruising with Royal Caribbean. I typically cruise with Carnival and I think I will be going back there (or anywhere else besides Royal Caribbean). If this cruise was meant to represent the service, class, luxury, and amenities offered Royal Caribbean has, it failed horribly. Just from this experience alone I would compare the Empress of the seas to the Red Roof Inn, prior to renovations. I started cruising about two years ago, and I love it! I plan to be a lifelong cruiser but I will not be including Royal Caribbean in my plans. I don’t normally make complaints because I do understand that things happen beyond anyone’s control quite frequently, but I feel so strongly about my lackluster experience and the fact that I wasted my time and hard earned money by taking a chance on Royal Caribbean. Like I said before I love cruising, this cruise to Cuba was my 5th cruise, but this will be my first and last cruise with Royal Caribbean.

Here are a few details below to help you understand my frustration.

Cabin Review

Cabin Interior

The cabin and bathroom are very small, especially the shower. I'm 5'5'' and 164lbs and the shower was a very tight fit for me. I typically cruise with carnival and their interior rooms and bathrooms are larger. The room décor is very outdated and dingy. We had an absent cabin attendant, she was not visible or inviting (she never formally introduced herself or told me her name). I wasn’t sure who to call for ice or cabin requests.
