Having started out our cruising experience on Carnival, and later on Royal Caribbean, we decided to see what Celebrity had to offer. We chose an AquaClass cabin - #1518. Our daughter and SIL joined us (they had cabin #1516) and as it was our SIL's first time cruising, we were hoping he'd have a good experience. I am happy to say, he loved it and as soon as he got back into port, he was texting family to see if they could gather on another Celebrity cruise for his sister's upcoming birthday. Our cabin was clean, and although the bed isn't anything special in terms of comfort, it was fine for 7 days. Our cabin attendant was very attentive and kept our room tidy and was available any time we needed anything. Do these folks even sleep? LOL The shower in the Aquaclass cabins is extra nice - very roomy and plenty of storage. We enjoyed the large balcony and actually spent one afternoon there when we were at sea and the pool and other areas seemed a little too busy. Passengers did the same as any cruise - reserving poolside chairs by placing towels and books on them, so on some days, my daughter got up extra early to assure they'd have a good spot. One of the things I especially enjoyed was having the muster drill inside in the entertainment area - not out in the blazing afternoon sun! I highly recommend booking a Concierge or Aquaclass for the size, the nice shower, but most importantly, because it allows you the use of the spa facilities and special dining in "Blu". We had the absolutely most delicious meals! Even our jaded Chicago family members were impressed. The main dining is ok, as well as the Oceanside Cafe, but nothing to write home about. If Celebrity wanted to improve on anything, I'd suggest the Oceanside Cafe have a bit more flair in some of the dishes. It wasn't bad, just uninspired. The entertainment was outstanding, and as usual, the casino slots were tight! Ha! I recommend trying your luck on the first and last nights if you like to play the slots. The Cruise Director, Rich, was an absolute lunatic (in a good way!) LOL and we all agreed he had the perfect job for his personality. This cruise stopped in San Juan, St. Thomas and St. Maarten and we did a snorkel at Trunk Bay and a Maho beach excursion. Both did not disappoint! The food off the ship was disappointing the 2 times we tried it in San Juan and St. Thomas, but we found ourselves comparing everything to Blu! We had a very smooth sailing and booked another cruise on the new Edge for 2019. Very much looking forward to that experience. All in all, very well done, Celebrity! We are now big fans!

AquaClass 2

Cabin A2

Quite, spacious, clean although seemed a tiny bit dated in the decor

Port Reviews

San Juan

We have been to PR a few times, so we opted to just go shopping in Old San Juan and then have a good dinner. Remember to negotiate in the jewelry stores - we scored some good deals.
