This was our fourth cruise with Viking and there will be more. We have always been pleased, surprised, educated, taken care of, concerned for, treated like royalty, pampered, and many more words to indicate that the cruise line takes all the concern for transfers, luggage, transportation to site to visit, out of your mind because I am not good with all the details of taking a trip and the trip just happens without my having to worry about anything. It has all been done for me and runs as smooth as glass. We always extend our cruises by three days at the end in order to further explore the city where we end and have never been disappointed with the accommodations. The one in Amsterdam was quite a ways out of the main city requiring us to figure out buses, light rail systems, subways, but we eventually we able but it was a bit disconcerting but part of the whole experience, I guess.
We received a surprise email stating that we had been upgraded to the Explorers Suite. I couldn't believe it because it was a dream come true! We were so blown away that we didn't really use all the perks we had but as the week progressed, we started to see its possibilities and knew that when we sign up for the 15 day cruise that we hope they will remember us again! The only problem with the cabin was that during the night, several times, we were subject to terrible vibration from the engine(?) at the back of the boat. It shook so hard that lamps fell, TVs seemed to be coming loose from the wall, and the sliding doors vibrated loudly. Several nights we didn't get much sleep.
Wanted to see this area because a friend and fellow artist came from this area.
