We have been on 2 Carnival Cruises previously and Royal Caribbean was by far the better of the two. The embarkment was quick and easy, especially if you printed out your Seapass card before getting to the service desk. We,me and boyfriend, got to the ship around 11am. We were able to walk around the ship, get a drink, the Windjammer cafe was open for lunch. The food was so good. Salmon, calamari, Fresh great tasting fruit, salads, burgers, fries and deserts. The ship is a little dated, but dont let that be a factor. We first went to the Bahamas. There is a channel, 22, that has a person (Kimberly for us), that explained the shopping district. While we didn't go shopping, some of her information about the area was helpful.( FYI The Bearded Clam (#19) on cruise map that was given, is a fantastic local dive bar- buy one get one free Bahama Mamas 2/$10.). We went to Pearl Island as an excusion. Beautiful place. We were there for 4 hours and it included BBQ lunch plus one free rum punch. Its like having a private beach all to yourself. feel free to explore the Lighthouse. CocoCay was the next Island we visited. Royal Caribbean own private Island. Another great place. Lunch is included and if you have a Drink package, all your drinks are free there (except for the drinks inside a pineapple..you'll be charged for that). You'll want to get there early 9:30am. The water is so clear that you can see the fish around the rocks and just walking around in the water was so nice. Most ppl came on the island around 11:30 and not that the water got less clear, but lots of things kicked up from the bottom and made it cloudy-still beautiful though. When getting off the Tender (a boat has to take you here from the ship) going to the right of the Island gets really crowded, make your way to the left and there are 2 other areas with beach chairs/ water. You can go so far out in the water, have a seat out there and drink your beer. They do have a Tiki hut bar out in the water. Bring a water camera-so many things to take pics of! Our last stop was Key West. At Key West, the ship had a mandatory immigration inspection of everyone on the ship. Had to have seapass card, passport ready to show. It went by fast. EVERYONE MUST DO IT. I don't know how many ppl they had to call on the intercom for not showing up. Key West was really a nice place to go. Its so clean, no one harassed you to do anything. Tons of roosters walking around-which I thought was funny. We went on a 3 hour Catermeran & Snorkle excursion.. 1 hour sail out to the Worlds 3rd largest Coral Reef, 1 hour to snorkle there and 1 hour ride back. The ride back was great. Free all you can drink beer, soda, margaritas. The crew was fantastic! very helpful and very fun to be around. Be sure to bring some cash to tip them! They take a picture of you when you first get on. it cost $20 if you want to buy it. Please remember when getting back on your Cruise Ship-have your seapass ready before getting up to Security. More ppl hold up the lines looking for this. It really should be habit that when you get on and off the cruise, you need to show it. The service on the ship was great. The ppl who cleaned our room, did it about 3 times a day. We always had fresh towels. They always asked about our day and if we needed anything. Benny the Bartender was our favorite guy. The gym was basic but there needs to be an age limit. I was trying to run on a treadmill and there was a 5 yr old that kept trying to jump on with me. After the 3rd time I had to make a comment to mom. Breakfast on the last day is a mad house. All the cruise goers somehow lost all manners they had all during the cruise. Theres ppl all over the place, grabbing whatever is around. Not the ships fault, but just an FYI on behaviors at this time. You just may forego eating there, like my boyfriend..lol. Disembarkment from the ship was fast. we had no issues and took our own luggage with us. Overall a great cruise. I will be back to cruise with Royal Caribbean again-maybe I'll bring the kids..lol
